What is Feng Shui and Where did it
come from?
The ancient art of Feng Shui
developed in the mountainous south western region of China during
the Han Dynasty(200B.C-200A.D.) The ancient texts indicate that the
study of the environment and the flow of energy originally developed
from the burial ritual, ensuring the safe travel of the ancestors.
The Classic of Burial discusses the changes of the shape of the earth
and notes the flow of the energy nurturing the flora and fauna. The
ancient Chinese masters recognized the environment as a living breathing
entity that can affect us with the flow of energy known as Chi. The
landscape and architecture of our living and working environments
can produce a positive or negative affect on our well being and health.
The early Feng Shui Masters also took into account the seasonal cycles,
locations, orientations, and weather conditions. The development of
Feng Shui also had astronomical and geophysical roots. 9 Star Ki is
a form of chinese astrology related to Feng Shui.
Both Feng Shui and 9 Star Ki developed
from the Book of Changes , the I Ching. They acknowledged that every
element in the physical world related to a unique energy type and
classified such energies into the Five elements: Earth, Fire, Metal,
Water, and Wood. A balance of all the elemental energies creates a
balanced and harmonious energy. The roots of Feng Shui are based upon
the same principals as Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture.
The practice of Feng Shui was originally passed down from Master to
Master hidden in secrecy and was submerged in the Chinese culture
in the advent of Communism. As the East has opened its doorways of
knowledge to the West, Feng Shui has become available to bring balance
in our modern working and living environments.
The three basic principles of Feng Shui
are:
Everything is alive,
Everything is connected, and
Everything changes
A Feng Shui consultation-a prescription to
create balance in your home or office.
A Feng Shui consultation analyzes the shape and energetic flow to
and in your home. The current placement of your furniture, colors,
and use of space is reviewed. Using the principles of Feng Shui, in
conjunction with your life goals or intentions, a consultation provides
the suggestions for you to create and enhance your ability to succeed.
A consultation will also review the accumulation of clutter in your
living/work environment. There is an old Chinese proverb which states"As
above, so below". This applies to all of those items you have
stuffed away in a closet or drawer. There is no hiding in Feng Shui.
9 Star Ki is also a fundamental part of the Feng Shui consultation,
identifying the aspects of the individuals living /working in the
dwelling. This astrological aspect help you to understand the crucial
elements needed for the support of a specific individual or for family
harmony.

Sheryl ran a successful energy practice serving both humans and animals
in the Boston area for many years. After a brief time in Santa Barbara,
Ca, Sheryl returned to Massachusetts, relocating to the Cape last
year.
After many years of working with the
energetic patterns of the human body and the animal beings utilizing
the tools of Reiki and Shiatsu, it became apparent that the environment
greatly impacted the health and well being of the individual even
with the healing advantage of Reiki and Shiatsu. The main focus of
her practice is the creation of a harmonious balance of the environment
to support the health of the human and/or animal being.
